A customer owned institution is an organisation that is owned by its members. For example; Banks are shareholder owned. Shareholders are individuals that have a financial interest in the bank and desire the highest return on their investment – usually coming at the expense of customers.

Credit Unions are member owned. Our members are our shareholders, which means profits are given back to our members through our pricing.
